Bob Newhart was very funny the other night! He did some of his old routines and even showed clips from his old shows. Yesterday we went through half of the vendors at the Rally and we found some really neat things for the RV. (I even found some beads!). Last night was the Tanya Tucker concert, not our cup of tea, but we went anyway. She was quite good but we left early.
Today we went with a group on a tour of two attractions in Louisville. First, we went on a tour of Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. Very interesting history and informative museum. Then we had lunch at Mike's BBQ, Yummy! After lunch we went to the Louisville Slugger factory tour.
I returned to our RV at 3:00 to take care of the dogs and Bill is now attending a fire safety seminar back at the hall. Tonight's entertainment is a group that covers Neil Diamond songs. (lol)
Sunday, more vendors to see and then Monday we are on the road again!

It's been very hot and humid here in Louisville. We registered for the Rally events and have
already met so many friendly fellow RVer's here, it's been a fun time already.
We decided to spend the day in the older section of Louisville. We went for a walk on St. James Circle, what a beautiful street, each house was prettier than the next. There was a median filled with graceful mature trees, gas lit street lamps and a centrally located fountain. We took a tour of the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum build 1893 (http://conrad-caldwell-museum.visit-louisville.com/). The tour was lead by the great grand daughters of Mr. Caldwell. What spectacular woodwork and details!
It was time to eat, so upon the recommendation of the Louisville Historic Visitor's Center, we stopped for a late lunch at The Brown Hotel, built in 1920's. (http://www.brownhotel.com/photo-gallery.htm) We had the traditional Hot Brown yummmm!
recipe: (http://www.brownhotel.com/dining-hot-brown.htm). Photos to follow!
The entertainment tonight at the Rally will be comedian Bob Newheart.

Trip to The Rally in Louisville, KY 7/10

Well, here we are in Salt Lick, KY! When we arrived I was getting ready to put a leash on Ginger, and Toby was so excited that he fell down the steps going outside! He scared me! But he was okay
just a little shaken up. It is raining but sunny at the same time, kind of strange weather. We haven't been able to get the TV satellite working but Bill was able to get the computer going for me.
We stopped in Flatwood, VW last night. It was a very nice camp site. There was a fairly new looking out door amphitheater on the grounds. I wonder what shows would be performed there?
No posters available nearby. We were able to walk to a nearby hotel to get dinner, we decided
not to grill last night.
